I’m Greta, a Newcastle-based neuroaffirmative Mental Health Occupational Therapist. I specialise in supporting my private clients and NDIS participants to build capacity in self-awareness, self-compassion, self-regulation, and self-efficacy: foundational skills in creating a values-led, satisfying life. 

 

Through trauma-informed, evidence-based practice, my approach weaves together somatic, sensory, creative and cognitive strategies.​

 

Because trauma is encoded in and experienced through the senses, multi-sensory, nature and body-based methods are incorporated where relevant to support nervous system regulation and processing of experiences that words alone cannot reach.

Activities may also involve drawing on the universal language of symbols and creative expression through drawing, music, sand tray therapy, ancient archetypes and storytelling. These deeply intuitive and, at times, playful approaches help to safely explore experiences without becoming overwhelmed by them. They also awaken the mind’s ability to imagine new possibilities and rewrite outdated narratives.

As we explore and begin reshaping the inner landscape, we uncover your core values; our internal compass of sorts that guides the goals that we set together, directs our therapy journey and informs the practical skills that we will focus on building to help you get to where you want to be.

Although I primarily work with women, adolescent girls, non-binary and transgender individuals, I welcome referrals for clients of all gender identities and diverse cultural backgrounds who are willing to participate with an open mind and an interest in change

​

At Alchemise, sessions are holistic and client-led, tailored to your strengthsinterests and preferred methods of self-expression and communication, structured around your values and goals.

  • Make decisions from a place of mindfulness and intention rather than emotional reactivity and unconscious internalised beliefs. 

  • Set goals that are values-led and realistic, and break them down into achievable steps.

  • Learn self-healing tools that blend evidence-based practices with ancient wisdom and special interests for lifelong growth, resilience and emotional balance.

  • Expand your psychological flexibility using creative and imaginative means through which to rewrite your own narrative and reimagine your future.

GROUP THERAPY

Within the comfort of your own home, via video call or within a calming sensory space in Newcastle, I integrate holistic, evidence-based practices to create a deeply individualised therapeutic experience. 

 

My approach is personable, client-led and always strives to meet you where you are at. Together, we create an environment that fosters safety, non-judgment and self-efficacy, where you are supported to process experiences that words alone can't always reach, at a pace that you get to decide.
 

Some activities include personal narrative and worldview exploration through art, music, sand tray, fantasy archetypes and verbal storytelling. Using somatic and sensory strategies—including mindfulness, interoceptive awareness, and nature-assisted therapy —we strengthen your mind-body connection, intuition and self-trust. This forms a strong basis for more practical capacity-building, including emotional regulation, boundary-setting for healthy relationships, and values identification for meaningful and relevant goal-setting and skills-development.

Group therapy offers powerful peer learning, shared stories and mutual accountability, fostering safety, trust and connection with others.

 

Alchemise OT co-hosts several engaging and dynamic group programs that support deep healing and lasting transformation. Through somatic, sensory and creative approaches—including storytelling, art, movement and nature— together we build practical skills for emotional regulation, mindfulness and self-awareness, nurturing confidence, compassion and self-trust. .

This shared journey lays the foundation for lifelong wellbeing and builds skills for meaningful change. Due to the importance of building safety, trust and graded skills within the groups, they are offered on a term-by-term basis only (i.e. no drop-ins).
